Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the order about distribution of subsidies between Russia’s leading universities to enhance their competitiveness among the leading world scientific and educational centers. Funds provided for these purposes in the Federal budget for 2018.
9,908 billion rubles are allocated 21 Russian universities to improve their competitiveness among leading research and educational centers within the framework of priority project “Universities as centers of spaces of innovation” state program “Development of education”. In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation from may 7, 2012 №599 “About measures on realization of state policy in education and science”) aims to ensure the entry of at least five Russian universities in the first hundred leading world universities according to world ranking by 2020. To this end, the government in 2013 state support is selected according to the results of the competition between Russia’s leading universities.
The grantees are divided into three groups. The first MSMU named after I. M. Sechenov of Ministry of healthcare related to the second, along with Kazan (Volga) Federal University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, peoples ‘ friendship University, Saint Petersburg state Polytechnic University Peter the Great, Tyumen state University, Ural Federal University named after B. N. Yeltsin. They will receive and 471.8 million. The subsidies to universities from the first group – 808,8 million of third – 134,8 million.
