These are the results of a study involving 94 volunteers aged 50 to 75 years who had no history of heart disease or diabetes.

Participants were divided into three groups and each was asked to consume 50 g coconut, olive or unsalted butter every day for 4 weeks. Scholars interested in how the use of these fats on a regular basis will affect the level of cholesterol, and the results of the study were quite astonishing.

In the group fans of butter was noted the average increase in “bad” cholesterol by 10% and in the group of those who received olive oil, the level of “bad” cholesterol decreased slightly, while the level of “good” cholesterol rose by 5%. But among those who consumed coconut oil showed the biggest leap of indicators of “good” cholesterol by as much as 15%.
