A new investigation of useful properties of fatty acids omega-3 authored by researchers from the University of Guelph in Ontario showed that fatty fish is an excellent food for preventing cancer of the breast. During the experiments, it has surpassed even known for its health potential of Flaxseed oil.
“Fatty acid omega-3 contained in fish, reduce the size of cancerous tumors by 60-70%,” – said the scientists after tests on mice. Doctors believe that prevention of tumors, people should eat 2-3 servings of fatty fish per week.
In the experiment, mice with cancer of the breast form (HER-2), fed various types of fatty acids omega-3. In the end, it was found that omega-3 from oily fish provide the maximum tumor inhibitory effect.
Plant sources of omega-3 also contributed to the relief of tumor growth. But how could install researchers, to achieve the desired effect they had to use higher doses. While the fatty acids from fish reduced the formation of 60-70%, fatty acids of linseed oil reduced the size of tumours by 30%.
