Accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer using urine

In Israel successful test was a new method of diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Israeli company Micromedic conducted successful trials of a new test to identify cancer cells in the urine sample of patients with suspected prostate cancer. This is a new product in the series CellDetect in which had previously been offered diagnostic tests for cervical cancer and bladder.

In the experiment conducted in The medical center Kaplan test method successfully identified cancerous cells in urine samples. The laboratory evaluated the sensitivity of the method in 91%. The developers believe that their technology is the most effective available methods for early diagnosis of prostate cancer. A significant advantage of the new test is the lack of a large number of false positives that lead to over-diagnosis and subsequently with the use of invasive techniques.
