Russia’s investigative Committee for the Republic of Tatarstan opened a criminal case after the death in Bugulma Central district hospital (Republic of Tatarstan) 22-year-old woman who three times denied admission. The case was brought on signs of the crime provided by h. 2 art. 109 of the criminal code (causing death by negligence of improper performance of their professional duties).
“According to investigators, on 18 and 19 February, the woman went to the hospital with complaints of feeling unwell, however, she was denied admission, recommending out-patient treatment at the place of residence. 20 Feb by ambulance the woman was taken to the emergency Department of the Bugulma hospital, but doctors again refused hospitalization. In the evening she was again taken to hospital, then the patient finally was admitted to the intensive care unit. At the same time, medical staff did not take timely measures to provide qualified help to the victim, with the result that she died,” – said in a statement on the website of the SU RF IC in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The criminal investigation continues.
